This is a very beautiful Ancient Moroccan GlazedI slamic pottery oil lamp ceramic oil lamp rare large Ancient Islamic great empire glazed oil lamp, with a wonderful vivid colouring. Has a oil chamber with filling space all complete. Is in very high quality preserved condition, with only minor wear and fading purely due to age
Pottery lamps were used as a source of light by all Moroccan pottery oil lamps offered an alternative to candle light. Candles, made from beeswax or tallow, were cheaper to buy but do not survive as well .Pottery-oil lamp
